POOJAA

Poojaa or ritualistic worship is the divine offering of the body through Sevaa (service), the offering of the mind through Bhakti (pure thoughts), and the offering of the intellect through Vigyaana (spiritual knowledge). Poojaa consists of two letters -Pa and Ja. 'Pa' means Paapanaashana which stands for the removal of impurities and 'Jaa' means Janmavicheda or the cessation of the cycle of birth and death.

bullet Bedi - rectangular, made of wood, filled with dirt, and decorated with flour. A fig tree is placed near the centre (some poojas)

bullet Havan Kund - fire pot, with mango, peepal, bael or other wood
bullet Picture or Murti of deity to be worshipped
