Lord Shiva Mantra

Mahaa Mrityunjaya Mantra – Prayer for Good Health

Tryam Bakam Yajaa Mahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardanam
Urvaa Rukamiva Badhanaam
Mrityor Muksheeya Maamritaat

I worship that three-eyed Lord Shiva who is full of sweet fragrance and who nourishes all beings. May He free me from the bondage of the cycle of birth and death, just as a ripe cucumber is separated from its creeper, so that I may attain immortality.

The fesitval of Mahaa Shivaraatri, which literally means "the great night of Lord Shiva," is the most auspicious night of the entire year for the devotees to perform His worship. It is observed on the fourteenth day of the dark half of the month of Phalgun (February - March).
Shiva Raatri is a most appropriate time for contemplation and the invocation of the Cosmic Energy which Lord Shiva represents, and which is immanent in every living cell of this human body, which has been gifted to us to house the jeevaatma of individual soul. It is very important to connect with this positive Shiva-energy, so that we can harmonize with its vibrations which will energise the mind, foster positive optimistic thoughts and sharpen the intellect with the power of self-knowledge.
